We were all jealous because the temp was around 107 or 108.

Hi Everyone,
I have finally updated our pictures on the web site. I am not real good about doing so. This
past trip to Mexico was an excellent trip even though I was exhausted from being at the
hospital with my brother. Then he passed away and I had the funeral to attend. I was not ready
for this mission, but the group from Covenant Baptist definitely took up all of my slack. These
men and women went to work with an attitude that could only come from God. I have been in
the ministry for 8 years and there are always problems when you put a group of people
together in 107 degree weather, but to the best of my knowledge these people pulled together
by the power of God and made this happen. The bathroom was completed along with the
bedroom. Savie and Janet have a home with all the basics. This group took time with the
children that were constantly hanging around which is a downfall for many. They also
purchased a few gifts as a house warming for Janet. One of the afternoons that we were there
I walked back to check on things and Janet was just sitting in her new bathroom crying. I could
only imagine not having running water and a bathroom. Actually I have lived in a home without
a bathroom and for one summer I lived in a tent without running water or a bathroom. So I
suppose I can relate to that. Anyway they have the basics now and we give God the glory!
Patty and I taught the children in the afternoon about the sovereignty of God in salvation. I am
not sure how much they understood, but we did our best. There were 20 to 25 children that
attended each evening. Most of these children never here God's Word being taught. Janet
works with them once a week, but not all of them attend her study. We want to supply her with
the material to teach them a doctrine that honors God. Savie is reaching out to the adults in
the community since we added the living room on last year. He has a Bible study in his home
each Tuesday. Please pray for us as we serve. We want to thank all of those that pray for us
and support us financially. To God be the glory!
