This is one of Janet's dishes. We had tostados and
stuffed peppers also. The group ate very well, but I am
not so sure that some of their arteries were not
clogged up a bit after eating this.
This is our first construction crew that we have taken
to Mexico. This is the first day and I was explaining to
the crew leader what we wanted. In my eight years of
ministry experience I have never seen a crew work
like this.
These are left over wood blocks and Jenny came up
with a great idea of sanding and painting them. The
kids will have a blast playing with them.
A couple of the children that live in the orphanage that
God enabled us to help. Both of these children are so
loving and sweet. This orphanage has several special
needs children and does a great job.
This is a photo of most of the children. Some are still
in school. This is a very small orphanage with only 18
children, but they do a fantastic job.
This is what I live for. It was 107 degrees and sweat
was pouring off me, but I have the best job that ever
existed. To God be the glory!
Two very special ladies that are in my life. Of course
my wife is first. Chloe has been going to Central
America with us since she was 11 and she is now 15.
Patty and I both love her so much.
This is Briana's first trip with us and she was great
with the children to say the least. She has a beautiful
voice and can play the guitar. It was nice having two
girls that could sing and play.
Covenant Baptist Church from Lafayette, La. and a
group of the neighborhood children.
Patty and Janet cheesing for the camera. I am sure
they were sweating also. That might have been the
day the cold front came through. It dropped from 108
to 104.
These are the construction pictures of the home. Last year they had a 16 by 20 foot house. The home did not have a
bathroom, running water or electricity. Now they have all three and an extra bedroom. The group from Covenant Baptist
raised the funds and did the work. Brother's Keeper Ministries had the electric hooked up last year and we were able to
pay for the slab so it would be ready for the group to start the frame work when they arrived. Our ministry helped with the
addition on the front which not only is a living room, but doubles as a Bible study. To God be the glory!
This is Janet the Pastor's wife buying food for the group. She loves to cook for us when we come. Needless to say that it is original Mexican food. I am not sure how sanitary it is with the chickens out in the open like this, but we sure ate ourselves a bunch of it. Janet is a hard worker and a very sweet young lady. I call her my Mexican daughter or hija.
